10 Year Anniversary Car Show
It was one of the hottest days in September, a heat wave, but that didn’t stop car scene regulars from cruising over to the Dead Sleds 10-year anniversary car show at the Ontario (California) Citizens Bank Arena.
The Dead Sleds have been rolling strong since 2005 and decided to throw a 10 year anniversary car show, Day of the Dead Sleds. The club was founded by club president CePe and vice president Crow in Ontario, California. Their members consist of family and longtime friends, including the late custom car builder Bo Huff. Strong brotherhood is one of the main ingredients for this club’s continued existence. Dead Sleds’ custom cars range from 1935 to 1959 and they firmly believe that every old ride needs to have fat whitewalls. Although Bo Huff had just passed away in August, the club decided to continue with the show and celebrate Bo’s life through a kickass car show.
Cars started arriving Friday afternoon, with early arrivals from the Ventura area. On Saturday, the Day of the Dead Sleds it was, with sleds cruising in from all over So Cal. From the entrance of the show you could see two customs on the stage. You could definitely feel the heat and camaraderie. There were club members scattered throughout the show, greeting all the participants.
The Pin-Up contest was classy, put on by Spellbound Images, and hosted by Dottie Deville. Jazzy Doll took first place, Kerosene Kelly second, and Lady Lipstick third.
The bands did an awesome job performing under the scorching heat. The band lineup consisted of Bebo & The Goodtime Boys, The Highlife Trio, The Rhythm Reactorz, Gizzelle, and Pachuco Jose Y Los Diamantes.
Prez CePe ads, “We would like to thank all the car clubs for supporting us and keeping the scene alive and we look forward to continuing to cruise the streets with you!”
The Dead Sleds might have a 15-year anniversary show but for now will focus on the show that they have been part of with fallen brother Bo Huff. “Huffarama” will be held on November 26, 2016, at the Ontario Citizens Bank Arena from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. OCBA is located at 4000 Ontario Center, Ontario, CA 91764. Come out rain or shine and support the Huff family and The Dead Sleds.
